                                                                 Biography

Magzhan Bekenuly Zhumabayev was born on 25 June 1893 in Sassykkul Tract if Sary-Aigyr volost in Petropavlovsky uezd. In the family of Beken and she had 7 boys and 2 girls. Grandfather Zhumbai foretold him a great future, and said: "He immortalize my name". At the age of four he could read fluently. This was facilitated by the family atmosphere. This was facilitated by a family atmosphere in which the spirit of veneration of the book reigned, and a careful attitude to everything that was associated with the poetic word. Parents Beken-aga and Gulsum-apay kept a library in the house, constantly replenishing it with novelties. They spent hours of leisure on the book. Magzhan easily and quickly memorized the read and heard and could retell the works he liked word for word. One such book, for example, was "Kissa-ul-ambiya" "The Book of the Prophets": Magzhan carried away the bright, selfless life of the prophets and knew the book by heart. Perhaps, already in this childish predilection, the contours of his tragic future were outlined, when, one of the prophets, will be rejected, rejected by the people, he will taste the cup of suffering in full measure, leave the world without compulsion, without changing his moral and poetic essence.
